Job Description

 

Job Title:                                Construction Crew Foreman

Department:                          Road Crew

Reports To:                            Construction Crew Superintendent

Salary:                                    Negotiable      

 

SUMMARY

Duties as follows: ensures that all safety programs, policies, and procedures are being adhered to. Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction. Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules. Oversees construction crews and may help with construction if necessary.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Confers with and directs construction personnel in the execution of construction procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction.
  2. Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  3. Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
  4. Collaborate with Human Resources and Management in the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of construction personnel.
  5. Works along with construction crews, performing construction tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a good understanding of construction concepts and techniques, including project control, planning, estimating, resource management, risk management, and quality assurance.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3 years experience as Construction Foreman. Must have experience in the construction of processing plants.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawing, and specifications for construction and installation of equipment. Ability to effectively present information to management, customers, subcontractors and employees.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

OSHA 30 hour construction course is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Extreme noise, dust, welding flash, mud, snow, ice, abrasion, and fall hazards are routinely present at construction job sites and the employee will be required to wear proper PPE.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

This position requires frequent travel and extended workdays.
